Foldaway toilet innovator Hidealoo to make its debut at KBIS 2025
UK-based innovator, Hidealoo, creator of a unique moveable toilet frame, is to make its debut appearance at KBIS in Las Vegas this February. The international, multi award-winning company is on a mission to help US households maximize their use of space and create more flexible living areas.
Attendees at KBIS will be able to speak with the Hidealoo team and see the frame in action at the British Pavilion, located in South Hall, Booth #SL2115. The team are keen to meet with potential trade partners and distributors, in addition, seeking to connect with closet manufacturers, for the rollout of Hidealoo’s new all-in-one solution.
About Hidealoo
The Hidealoo frame is a steel mechanism that allows a standard wall hung toilet pan to be rotated through 90 degrees. This space-saving device means it can be hidden inside a wall recess or closet when not in use. The room space can therefore be used for more than one purpose, creating great flexibility that helps optimize the use of space.
The frame is particularly well suited for properties where space is at a premium, or where adding extra toilet facilities, might not otherwise be possible or affordable. It can, for example, help maximize the use of space within a laundry room, basement or underneath loft eaves, or help create more flexible space in a half bathroom.
Hidealoo works with any standard wall hung ceramic pan and is capable of holding 400kg in weight. It has been successfully operated through 250,000 flexing cycles with a fully flooded pan and pipes – the equivalent of being used 10 times a day for 65 years.
The frame was officially launched to market in 2023 and interest continues to grow amongst both trade and consumer customers worldwide. This includes an expanding customer base across 17 countries, including North America, where installations have already been completed in locations including New York, Washington State, Alabama and California. Half baths and loft conversions both being popular uses.
Continuing in its winning ways, in December 2024, Hidealoo picked up Silver at the prestigious New York Product Design Awards 2024. This follows the company being named ‘Best New KBB Product’ at the BKU awards 2024, receiving a kbb Innovation ‘People’s Choice Award’, and also receiving a Top Design Award at the European Product Design Awards.
Case study – Frankie
“Hidealoo has helped make the best use of the space”
Frankie was keen to maximise the space she had available in her new home. One area of focus was the mezzanine floor, which needed to be multipurpose – working as a bedroom, a study area, and a bathroom – whilst not being made to feel cramped with all the furniture and fittings required.
Favoring clean lines, modern, light and uncluttered spaces, Frankie was keen to find a way to include a toilet within the mezzanine bathroom, but for it to be hidden from sight. She didn’t want it to block easy room access, or to be looking at the toilet when working. Nor did she want to have to go downstairs to reach a toilet during the night.
The Hidealoo frame offered the perfect solution allowing her to hide her toilet inside a closet beneath a rooflight, utilizing the available head height. When not needed, it can be folded away, freeing up valuable floor space and also keeping the overall design of the room elegant and toilet-free.
Frankie commented: “I searched and searched online for a way to hide the toilet and that’s when I came across Hidealoo. The frame is fantastic and exactly what I was looking for. It has given me the flexibility to be able to use the space in different ways and above all, hides the toilet from view. I’m really pleased with the end result. Hidealoo has helped make the best use of the space.”
Case study – Dave
“Hidealoo enabled us to create a multipurpose wet room”
Dave was keen to reconfigure a downstairs utility area to make better use of the space available. He wanted to create a multifunctional area that would offer a toilet and walk-in shower, whilst also boasting storage and offering a solution to concealing the house’s key ‘machinery’, including water heater and underfloor heating manifold.
With the support of the team at Hidealoo, the area has been redesigned to create a sleek and modern shower/wet room using a recessed storage concept. A Hidealoo frame has been used within the lower part of the wall system, meaning the toilet can fold away when not in use. This has freed up valuable floor space for a new walk-in shower.
The water heater and other controls take further advantage of the upper recess space by being relocated there from the laundry room, creating valuable, additional and easily accessible storage space.
Dave commented: “Hidealoo has enabled us to create a multipurpose wet room. We’ve used the Hidealoo frame behind an openable wall, which also hides the water heater and manifold. The end result is an attractive wet room and toilet that provides more facilities for the household, while giving us valuable extra storage in the laundry and helping us make full use of the space we had available. We’re really pleased with the finished room and without Hidealoo it would not have been possible.”
